As Design Director and Managing Partner, Al is involved with projects from the very first line in a sketch until the final construction of a project.
Prior to founding PartFour Architects, Al worked on projects ranging from small residential to large mixed-use developments, institutional and commercial buildings.
Since 1998 he has worked along side of Randell L. Makinson, a leading national expert on architectural restoration and the Arts and Crafts movement in the United States. Under his guidance and mentorship he has helped in the restoration of homes designed and built by California architects Greene and Greene, and other historic homes throughout Los Angeles. Al is a Visiting Professor at Universidad Centro Americana Jose Simeon Cañas School of Architecture in El Salvador, Central America. He was also and Adjunct Professor at Woodbury University’s School of Architecture. He is currently a Flotilla Commander, Certified Boat Crew Member and Interpreter for the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and an active member of the United Nations Volunteer Programme.
